The Harambee Mentoring Project is focused on connecting new Maryville
students with Upper-Class Maryville students who can assist with the
transition to Maryville University focusing on in academic, emotional, and
recreational issues.
Goals Provide a support for incoming students as they transition to Maryville
University Develop positive relationships among the minority community at Maryville
University Assist the University with increasing the retention of minority students Providing a structured program to develop relationships with Mentors and
Protégés.
Criteria for Participation Mentors must have a minimum 2.5 gpa Mentor must have at least six hours during the semester to dedicate to
their protégé Mentor must follow all university policies and procedures Must complete a minimum of three personal contact forms and return to the office
of multicultural programs by the designated deadline.
